Southern VT Auction LLC was founded in June, 2005. We are a full service auction which runs at least once a month. We specialize in estates, with an emphasis on fine art, especially by Vermont Artists.

We offer appraisals, consultations, pricing and administration of your estate sale, on site auctions, and auctions at the Dorset Sportsmen's Club.

We have a proprietary mailing list of over 1400 bidders who have registered with us or signed up on line- we know how to reach the market! Our advertising includes national trade papersand local papers as well as extensive online advertising, direct marketing for special pieces, and a regular mailing list.

Auctions are held at the Dorset Sportsmen's Club on Kirby Hollow Road near Long Trail School (see map on home page).

The auctions are open to the public and are held in a comfortable hall with plenty of seating. Every sale is catalogued, so you will know what's coming next. We have a terrific caterer, so you can settle in, be comfortable and enjoy the sale.

SVAC’s Fresh Paint Auction, August 14

 

MANCHESTER, VT­­–The fourth annual Fresh Paint Auction, a major fundraiser to benefit ongoing programs and mission-centered initiatives at the Southern Vermont ArtS Center, will be gaveled open by auctioneer Mary Anne Lukas in SVAC’s Arkell Pavilion on Friday, August 14, at 6:30 p.m.; the preview – with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar – begins at 5:30 p.m.  In its relatively short history, the Fresh Paint Auction has proven to be one of the Arts Center’s most popular, and most profitable, fundraisers.  What makes this auction unique is that the vast majority of the paintings up for bid will have been painted locally – a number of favorite and recognizable area vistas are invariably in the mix – and just prior to the event by SVAC Artist Members and a select number of visiting guest artists.For more information, call SVAC at 362-1405. SOUTHERN VERMONT AUCTION TERMS OF SALE

  1. Terms of sale: 12% buyer's premium MC, Visa, Discover, AmEx, 2% discount for cash, check or wire.

  2. 6% VT sales tax, unless valid resale certificate is presented. Must register to bid, provide proper ID and secure all absentee bids with credit card.

  3. All items must be paid in full and picked up on the day of sale. If you are unable to pick up your own merchandise, the bidder is responsible for making appropriate arrangements.

  4. Transfer of ownership occurs upon the auctioneer declaring the item “SOLD”. Staff will make every effort to protect items once sold, but it is Bidder’s responsibility to safeguard won lots. Property left behind with no notice to auction staff will be considered abandoned and discarded at the auctioneer’s discretion.

  5. All items are sold “where is, as is”, with no guarantees of any kind, regardless of statements from the auction block or the catalog. Bid on your knowledge only, based on your inspection of the property. IF YOU ARE NOT SURE ABOUT SOMETHING, PLEASE DO NOT BID.

  6. Bidder is responsible for knowing which item he/she is bidding on. If unsure, inquire or do not bid. When you become the winning bidder at auction, you have effected a contract and become responsible for payment for won items. Auctioneer will not honor “mistakes”.

  7. Bidder is responsible for making sure auctioneer sees his/her bid. It is YOUR responsibility to get the auctioneer’s notice before “SOLD” is said from the block. The auctioneer will not re-open items after declared “SOLD”, or “PASSED”.

  8. Auctioneer reserves the right to accept bids in any increment she deems appropriate. Auctioneer reserves the right to reject the bidding of any person in the audience whose conduct, actions or comments she feels are not in the best interest of the seller, or whose conduct is simply unbearably rude.
